CHI-UJ collaboration produces ground breaking work

The Chris Hani Institute collaborated with the University of Johannesburg (UJ) in a ground breaking book, Migration in Southern Africa: IMISCOE Regional Reader, edited by Pragna Rugunanan and Dr Nomkhosi Xulu-Gama. The book won the 2022 UCT Open Textbook Award (https://www.news.uct.ac.za/article/-2022-12-05-recipients-of-the-2022-uct-open-textbook-award).

Contributors in the book chapters came from Aisha Lorgat, Researcher at the Chris Hani Institute, Musawenkosi Malabela, Researcher at the Chris Hani Institute, Dr Nomkhosi Xulu-Gama, former Senior Researcher at the Chris Hani Institute, Dr Samukele Hadebe, former Senior Researcher at the Chris Hani Institute, and Tebogo Mogoru, former Intern Researcher at the Chris Hani Institute. Dr Sithembiso Bhengu, Director at the Chris Hani Institute wrote the Foreword.

The book, which is an open access Regional Reader proposes new ways of theorising migration in Southern Africa, and is part of the Book Series IMISCOE Research Series
